More Heat Gauge Woes.....Your Opinion?

So, Gene Bender over in Iowa sends me this bushing for the heat gauge. Thanks Gene!! Getta load of those fine threads on the inside! Anyhoo, I've got two gauges, the old one and the new one. If I put a flame under that old thermocoupler, the gauge comes right up. Put it in the tractor and it won't move off of cold; had the tractor running for half an hour or so. So, I stick a thermometer in the radiator and it reads 140 degrees. Do I need to put in the new gauge or just maybe the old heifer needs a different thermostat? Whadda think? Allan
