I agree with river, that you most likly have a bad bearing I had the same thing happen on my H. It occured after I pulled it in the local fair. (I guess 12,000 lbs on the slead was just too much for those 50 year old bearings.) Anyway pull the top cover off and check for play in the bull pinion gear. You have to drop the bull gear to do it. Also check for wear on the gear. YOu can find used ones in a scarap yard.
