I live in south-eastern PA where the amish still use ground drive mowers. A regular gear mower is worth less than a trailer gear mower, but still has value. Several shops in the area rebuild the mowers. Completely refurbished, new wheels, new bushings in the gearbox, new cutter bar parts, sandblasted and painted can be had for around $1200. You can get a good working one, field ready for $4-500.
