My M book says 78 1/4, my H book says 75 5/8. 2 5/8 difference. My Operator's manuals are the latest verisons. Differences could be what IH was calling the standard tires at the time -- earliest ones were on 36 inch rims, the manual for my dad's 1941? H listed dimensions with steel wheels, if I remember right. Current manuals list the H with 10-38, M with 11-38, thus a slight diameter difference. If equipped with 4 ply tires they will sit lower than with 6 ply (I don't consider 4 ply a good idea on an H or M). Perhaps we should just say there isn't much difference.
