Kurt, if its only a lil Cub you need to start, I see no advantage on butchering things up to convert it to 12 volts. Now on a bigger tractor it can be an advantage to help them start in extreme cold temperatures, but with a good battery and big battery cables a lil Cub ought to start unless its totally worn out and needs major work and tune up etc.
