I recently looked into replacing the transmission in a 140 with one from a super A. If you go to the CaseIH parts website and look at the diagrams (as I did), you will see there are differences in gears and gear ratios between the A and 140. The SA xmission would not work with the 140 rear axle shafts, bull gears, etc.
However, I think you can swap the entire 140 rear end (from xmission on back) with one from a super A. Wait for input from one who has done it, and also check out the diagarms and parts on the CaseIH website.
If you are interested in getting rid of a 140 xmission, let me know (assuming its rebuildable).
