I guess it works both ways. I grew up on a large farm and
learned absolutely nothing about farming. My father used us
kids as slave labor, just hold the sack open and let the grain fall
in it. I never learned when you had to combine the oats, how to
drive a tractor or how to work on a motor. Now I'm a school
teacher and am learning all of that by reading books. I just
rebuilt a 1946 Farmall A, by reading a book.
