806 power steering pump?

Started the 806 up to replace 706 on log splitter. Power steering pump wes very noisey low behind plate on left side of tractor and I could hardly steer.Can I change pump by removeing that plate? Could it be something outher then pump? Yesterday 706 injection pump today 806 steering pump what next? Thanks Stu
