So, let me guess. The forklift is mounted on the rear, and the operators station has been reversed so that you actually drive the tractor backwards, meaning that the rear wheels now do the steering. The first thing is to educate yourself on how to drive this thing, it will be quite different. Also, check out the entire steering system, you may have worn parts which are contributing to the problem. I really have no idea about the size of the tires, because that part of the tractor was probably modified during the changeover also. I am guessing that there should also be some heavy counter weights on the steering end, if those are missing, there will not be enough weight on the steering tires, and you will have trouble.
