OT: Doors frozen shut

A few years back I heard of a method to keep doors from freezing shut in the cold winter months. For the life of me I can not remember what it was exactly. After our first snow of the season last night, I worked for over a half hour to get into my car this morning. Any helpful hints to prevent this would be very nice. Thanks
