If it has ever sat out side in the rain what happens is, rain water runs down the shifter and then in to the tranny. We have a cub that we put all new seals in the tranny last summer and hwne I checked the tranny it was over full and the fluid was milky looking. It had been parked out side since we had done the work to it and as I said it come in from the shifter. Its no big deal but need to be looked at.
