Super MD question

Are the points....switch...(whatever you call it) that cuts the electricity off to the coil when it is changed over to run on diesel still avaialable? I have very little experience with these tractors and am still learning. Have not bought a parts book yet for the proper part terms and numbers but I just thought I would ask.
