We had a similar tractor up until last year. Good machine, very heavy. You won't have any trouble with a 10ft bush hog. Make sure you check the tranny. We would still have ours if high range hadn't gone out of it.
The 263 in ours ran great, but it did like it's gas. I would estimate that we were down in the 5 gph range while baling hay.
