Allan Do the over night test to see if it goes all the way down. If so you have a leak. There are more then just the Piston seal and the cushion relief valve. You could have an o ring between the valve body and the cylinder. You should be able to see the cushion relief through the 2" X 3" plate under the seat. You could let the hitch all the way down and look at it through the third link hole to see if it has score marks in it.
