I've helped mechanic on a 600 HP Mini-Rod for the last five years...and if I have learned one thing about pulling (if you want to be competitive) CUBIC DOLLARS BABY, NOT CUBIC INCHES! Pulling is the most expensive way to travel 300 feet. Sorry! Start with the inexpensinve stuff if you want (governor work, ignition performence, fuel systems), but sooner or later it's gonna boil down to a 450 cam, a good set of valve springs, a set of Firecraters, and some head work! Keep your chin up!
