Ok Allan...I have a 656D question

Allan...you are one of the 656D guys here...got a question. Brought the 656D to Texas dad and my uncle had. It looks like heck...but runs like a bandit. Dad took the gas engine out and put a 660D engine he rebuilt in it. Just befor he died he put a turbo on it. Pulls like crazy. Problem is, it smokes like its on fire when cold. Once it gets warmed up the smoke goes away and it runs clean. It does not use oil so it must be fuel. We used it a little last night and I had to get it out of the shed the smoke was so bad. I could hardly see. Is this typical? Just does not seem right to me. It was about 50F when we used it...so it was not real cold. Any ideas?
