I have a 1939 H and I replaced the spring with one from the rear of an older chevy Cavaler (about 1984). I had the "falling of the back of the seat" because I weigh more than 300 pounds problem also. The bottom of the spring is a little large but I used a large flat washer and made a spacer to center the spring. Has worked real well on this working tractor.
