It definitely makes it a 68. As for whether it was originally a 6v or a 12v will depend on where thechange over occured. It appears to me from quickly gazing at the TC-37F Parts Catalog, that the changeover occured at Serial Number 224401 for 12volt. So, quite possibly yours was orignally a 12 volt from the factory. I would suggest checking the Cub Manual Server at www.cleancomputes.com/Cub/index.html for more info or send me an email for a return with one with active links. Hope this helps
