Are the pistons on your A cast iron? The original IH pistons in my H were cast iron and fit a 3-3/8" bore. The oil ring was below the wrist pin on them too. The replacement pistons available now are aluminum and sized for a 3-7/16" bore and have the oil ring above the wrist pin. Keep in mind the fact that your engine was designed with the best technology that the 1930"s had to offer.

You will have to measure each of the ring groove widths and diameter on your piston to get the right ring set.
