Noises and it doesn't run yet

1935 F-20,in restore process,have pulled it from one place to another(not in gear)a couple different times.Now that we have started back together with it,now there is all kinds of noise in trans or rear end when we push it.Here is the question,could it be because when we were putting the "u joint" back together the yoke on the motor didn't slide back,so could this have pulled on the trans side yoke thus causing the noises from the back half?
