Change the coil, a weak one will act like that. So will a bad condenser. I've seen more bad new condensers than old!!! Put on the old one as an experiment!! A 12v coil designed for a resistor will work on 6v. or a 6v coil. Observe polarity Neg of coil to points with Neg ground battery or Pos of coil to ground with pos ground battery.
