I have not been satisfied with any brand of front tires for small under 50 horsepower tractors. IMHO they are all junk if you work the tractors. My best performance comes from tires made for older pick up trucks. The extra tread does give some protection from thorns and briars. On 6 ply truck tires the sidewalls hold up better also. Rear tires are a different situation. Most brands do O K but the weakness here is the inability to survive ultraviolet light. Cracking and splitting are common. I started observing tires in various states of condition (nearly new to where the cleats were gone) at auctions and I have concluded that Firestone tires do not exhibit the degree of problems exhibited by other brands. Do not take my word for this observation, do your own survey and I believe you will conclude that I am correct. I now go out of my way to buy Firestone rear tires and I am known to be frugal.
