Leon, if the Super C is anything like the plug in the H it merely plugs a cross-drilled hole in the housing. The high-pressure side of the pump delivers oil to the pressure-relief valve through this hole. It is easier (and cheaper) for the manufacturer to sometimes not fool with an overly complex casting so it was drilled instead. Another thing about priming - since it was mentioned in an earlier post, look at the location of the pump relative to the oil level in the sump. If the pump inlet is below the oil level, it will be self priming. The H oil pump actually runs below the oil level and I suspect the same is true for yours.
