Jeff,MitchP- the level check for my BN is a regular pipe plug (1/2" or so) that I use a Cresent wrench on. It's not the recessed type. Jeff, I think you'll need 2 gallons of 90W to change your fluids. 1 1/2 quarts in each final drive and 5 quarts for the transmission including the PTO and belt pulley. When you drain the transmission you need to remove the tiny pipe plug at the bottom of the belt pulley housing to drain that. You should refill the belt pulley with 1/2 quart of fluid to lubricate it until the fluid from the transmission can get back there. The fill is on top of the belt pulley housing if I remember right. o change the fluid in the final drives you need to take off the sheet metal pans at the bottom of the final drives. I wipe these out good and use a new gasket when reinstalling them and don't over tighten those bolts! Then refill using the recessed pipe plugs in the casting just above the pans. One last thing, when changing gearbox fluids or engine oil I always dump a quart of fluid straight thru to flush it out. For the transmission and belt pulley I'd use 10W30 or something similar. Dave.

Elliott said while this
