Andy, The 9-speed sounds good. You would enjoy it. You have to stop to shift into and out of the higher range. It allows for pulling lighter loads at greater speeds and shifting through the gears to 5th(5th gear is not affected). It is hard get started in standard road gear (5th), without it. We used to do some light field work in high low, pull wagon loads of hay in the lower high end gears, etc. It makes the tractor much more usable and that is saying something as the M is pretty neat anyway.
