I wonder if you have an intermittment problem with the push-pull switch. Next time it fails jump across the two lugs on the back and see if the ammeter moves to show a discharge without starting the tractor. El Toro mentioned the coil and condenser which could be candiates as well since it just stopped cold when running. Don't know what the ammeter would show if one of them would be open from a heat issue when the switch was pulled out. Good luck, Hal
