Thanks to everyone for great input, so I went back to farm store and bought the cherry picker for $170 plus tax last one they had. While we were loading it a man came over and told me about useing a home made version to lift 460 ford V8 and the picker collasped under the weight. The trouble I have is only guessing what things weigh. Well now I will have to pour more concrete as only half my working stall is poured rest gravel. Hal ,Ive thought of building one of those A frame cranes but instead I put in a stationary I beam with a trolley and one ton chain hoist. Im limited to sideway movement only but now I can use new cherry picker alone or in conjunction with beam. Jeff
