We had a crankshaft to break when we were running it on a stationary dynamometer. Was working the midnight shift, sure wakes you up quick. Called in the project engineer and we pulled the engine and dropped the oil pan. We had a lot of instrumentation to disconnect before we pulled the engine. The project engineer wanted to hear it run, so I fired it up. What a noise. Found one of the counterweights had broken. The day shift installed a new crank and we kept testing for the rest of the 1000 hours. Hal
