First off you did not say if it was a roosamaster or the RD pump ?? Ya need to pull the plate on the bell housing and find TDC and install the pointer and make sure that you are on 1 TDC and not 6 then ya have to open the window on the pump and make sure that the marks are aligned . If you are not sure that you are on #1 TDC then pull the valve cover and CHECK. And if you were the one that installed the pump did you make sure that the DOT's on the shaft and the inside of the pump match , this only applys to the Rossamaster .
