Cowman - There's actually 2 bailers in the background of that image. The nearer one is flat belt driven from an F-12. Hidden behind it is an older hay press powered by the horse sweep. Incidentally watching this stuff at work gives one a healthy appreciation for the relative ease with which we bale and store straw today! ...Bob M

Tractor Traction - by Chris Pratt. Our first bout with traction problems came when cultivatin with our Massey-Harris Pony. Up till then, this tractor had been running a corn grinder and pulling a trailer. It had new unfilled rear tires and no wheel weights. The garden was already sprouting when we hooked up the mid-mount shovel cultivators to the Pony.
