You need to check how your mag is grounded when the engine is shutoff. That could be your problem for no spark. They could use a switch or a rod that would ground out your mag. You need to inspect the mag for this. If a switch is used an ohm meter can be used to see if the wire is grounded on one side of the switch. One position could be the start position and the other to ground the mag. You don't use ignition voltage with a mag. With battery ignition when you shut off the ignition switch it kills the voltage to the points and coil. The mag is always grounded. That's just used when stopping the engine. Good Luck, Hal
