I started out with hydraulic oil, went to 30w, then to 40w, now I use 20w50 in my belly pumps.

When it is 100 deg outside and you are tying and dumping a round baler with a belly pump the oil gets hot and thin and everything gets s l o w.

20w50 helps when hot and acts like 20w when cold.
