Super A stuck engine

Stopped by my mom"s this afternoon and had a chat with her landlord. He has a Super A with a stuck engine. He has been using this tractor regularily and ran fine when he used it a few days back. Now it won"t turn with either the starter or the crank. He admitted not knowing alot about tractors ,but says there"s gas in the oil. What are the possible ways for gas to enter the crankcase? Would an engine stick from raw gas setting in the cylinders in just a couple days? We used have a Super A years ago and never turned the gas off when not in use.
