There were no 1969 models, last year of production for 504 was 1967. The diesel however no matter what year was a very good tractor. The engine is just a 4 cylinder version of the the 6 cylinder 282 used in 560, 706 and 656. maybe not the best diesel IH ever built but will rank in the top 4.

Tractor Traction - by Chris Pratt. Our first bout with traction problems came when cultivatin with our Massey-Harris Pony. Up till then, this tractor had been running a corn grinder and pulling a trailer. It had new unfilled rear tires and no wheel weights.
