There are a bunch of knowledgeable guys who willingly offer advice on this site, most of it good, and you have gotten some of it already. You might also remember that the price needs to reflect the condition of the tractor or implement. In this case you already know the paint isn't right and you might discover something else that isn't quite right, but they aren't necessarily showstoppers if the price is fair for the condition. The H is a very good tractor, plenty for your 40 acres. It will easily handle a two bottom (14") plow and an 8' disc if you have a need for that in addition to mowing. I'm sure you will enjoy it.
