I've never driven a TD 24 but I'd love too. It's a common story that the thing set IHC's large crawler business (industrial & aggriculture) back if not dealing the death blow. Yes it's the final drive. Having said that I have an aquaintance with three TD 24's. Three complete tractors. He uses one commercially to rip ground (not a dozer tractor and that is key) and the others are for parts. The key is pulling straight when under load. I have stood 30 feet from the TD 24 when he is pulling 3 48" shanks and the ground shakes. The tractor is an awsome spectical under load and sounds incredible. He hasn't needed the parts tractors yet. I admire the things (TD 24's) as would anyone who sees one upfront and running, especialy under load. There are few runners around as I understand it so they are an awsome item to collect. The early TD 15(I have many hours on one) were so noisey (the tracks) that we had to where ear protection because of the high pitched squeaking. IHC could do nothing about the squeaking. As I understand it the next version TD15 B? had improvements that helped quite down the tracks.
