MagMan --- has got it right...I would like to help reparing the shifter...look closley at the ball on the bottom end of the shifter...decide where the ball has wore away...build up by welding/ grind into shape...replace ....ready to shift ....this is a common problem with the older Farmalls......even the Cub Cadet lawn/garden tractors....good luck...
