You can remove the rivet through the top of the support and remove the steering shaft bushing. I ground the head off of the 1/4 inch rivet and drove the rivet out with a punch. That's the easy part, then put a jack of some kind under the steering shaft up close to the bushing and work on it with a mallet, (not hammer, it will break)
The bushing extends down in the pipe support a couple of inches.
