Just finished a tractor pull and my Super c cut out for just a second. I was was driving back to the trailer and it cut out a couple more times. I got home, unloaded it and started for the barn when it died. I tried to start it but the battery went dead real quick. I charged it, started it, it ran a few minutes and then died just like you turned off the switch. When I tried to start it the battery went dead in a few seconds. Its got an alternator and the amp guage was showing charge. Anyone got any ideas? Could the battery just be shot and when the alternator cuts out, it dies? Could the coil be on the way out? It was very hot to the touch. I am still using a 6 volt coil with a resistor. Any suggestions would be helpful.
