Aces: Quite agree with you on the brakes, however the steering is another matter. when my 1066 had less than 100 hours on it, broke a rocker arm. Called IH dealer and there was a recall on those, he had a complete rocker arm assembly in stock for my tractor. He wanted us to tow tractor not running to a source of electricity, and he would send a serviceman right out.

Since all my other tractor were busy and route was quite level, we attempted this tow job with Super A. We had a couple of 90 degree turns through gateways. Hardest pull the Super A had was pulling sideways on front end, thus forcing front wheels to steer. You could for the most part steer it on the straight away and slight curves. The tractor was dualed and had 6 front weights. You could follow it on the steering wheel as the Super A pulled sideways. No way you would ever steer it sharp. Big task was getting the front wheels straight after the turn. Remember this was 1975 and tractor had less than 100 hours on clock. My 656 was somewhat better on steering without engine running. I would however not want to get caught with either on a sharp curve in road and steep embankment and have engine fail.
