Thank you all so much for your helpful suggestions. My husband read them. He did know why the tractors brakes didn't work, I didn't! When it initially stopped, it wouldn't start up and run again. Yesterday he replaced both? fuel filters (he said they were pretty gunked up), and then that's when it would run about 5 feet and quit again. He liked the idea of the basketball pump. We had one around here, but don't you know I couldn't find it for him before he left to go try to get it running again. (It's about 25 miles from home.) He said he should have dumped out the canisters that the filters sat down in. He hoped it didn't get into the fuel pump. I hope I am getting this all correct! I probably understand more than most women, but I am still pretty clueless about this stuff! Be patient with me! I'll let you know how it all turns out.
