IH 504 Transmission Problem

I'm about to purchase an old IH 504 diesel tractor with a backhoe/loader at a very low price (<$800). Engine fires right up, hydraulics work fine, tires in great shape, etc.

The only major item is that reverse does not work. In talking with the seller, he told me that the reverse gear is shot. (as in teeth are missing/gone). My question is, where can I order parts for this tractor? What would one expect to pay for a gear?
