Do you have a VOM (volt, ohm meter)? If so check the voltage
across the two battery terminals with the engine running. On a 6
volt system, there should be 7 and1/2 volts or so. Compare with
the reading when the engine is not running (just over 6 volts
with a fully charged battery). It could be the regulator too. Check
the voltage from ground to the armiture (i think) terminal on the
generator or the regulator.
If you don't have a meter, you can probably tell if it's charging by
seeing if the lights get brighter when you increase the engine
RPM.
