Chris – My recommendation is to buy a new 6 volt coil and battery and return the electrical system to original. So long as the electrical system is in good shape (especially the battery cables), your H will start reliably on 6 volts. --- From your description it sounds like your H is equipped with a distillate manifold. The busted piece is called the “exhaust pipe” (part #6 713 D) – it will be difficult to find a replacement. The easiest solution is to replace the entire manifold assembly with a gasoline manifold (uses a standard 2” threaded pipe nipple for the exhaust pipe which can be replaced in the unlikely event it rusts thru or gets bent). Figure on spending $120 or so for a new aftermarket gas manifold. Or you might find a good used one at a boneyard. But you will now have a solid muffler mount, and it will give the engine a bit more power as well.
