BFox, Couple things to check...make sure the battery cable terminals and posts are clean and that you're getting a good ground on the grounding cable to the tractor frame. You could also have a sluggish bendix spring in the starter. Usually if the cables/posts are dirty all you'll get is a click from the starter. If none of this works take ur starter to a auto electric/starter/generator place and have them look at it. Most can rebuild the starter for less that $70.(+/-) Good luck. FB
