Is there a place to find historical info on Farmal

At my dad's old family farm in NC there's a 1940 A (FAA 29325). It's got my name on it (someday) for restoration, but in the meantime, my cousin uses it every year for his garden. Is there any place that I might be able to find a list of the dealers that existed in 1940 in the central Piedmont area of NC? I'm curious where Uncle Bud might have purchased it from. Tks! Butch
