Carlton - Actually the governor spring is in action at ALL engine speeds except low idle. If the gov spring breaks the engine will only run at idle regardless of throttle setting. Or if the spring is weak it will do a poor job controlling RPM under varying load (engine exhibit excessive RPM “droop”). Also it may be able not achieve full RPM. You can run your loader off one of the remotes – presuming the loader has it’s own control valving. You’ll however need to tie back the remote lever to pressurize the loader hydraulics. Also be aware the live pump on your 300 may have less GPM capacity than the PTO pump. Means the loader motions would be slower when running off the tractor’s hydraulics.
