in the late 50's international sent to all dealers a service memo to replace all transmisson and rear end lube with hy-tran. they felt that the lighter oils luberacted the rear end and transmissions better. hy-tran had a additve that made the light weight oils adhere to metal. when they said all they even meant the real early models(f-20's 22-36's and the like)
