The best thing you can do to help your rings seat is to put the engine under a good load. (make the engine work hard). Make sure you watch the temperature closely if you just put it together, because the engine will create more heat. This is caused because the rings scrubbing against the cylinders are actually creating more friction, until they wear to match the cylinder wall. Working the engine creates more pressure against the rings and forces them into cylinder walls harder. This makes the rings seat sooner. Failure to do this will allows the rings to smooth out (glaze) to much and not seat well. If you have anymore questions regarding above statement, just e-mail me.
