Well, Here is where I am. I now have spark at the plugs. The plugs are old..so I'm going to replace them. It still won't start. I want you guys to double check my procedure here:
1) pulled the rotor button off.
2) pulled the plate off (has a little gear in it)
off that covers the points.
3) cleaned them and noticed a mark on the little
gear. Timing mark I guess.

4) well, there was no mark on the rotor button gear. But on the outside of the rotor button
there is what looked like a mark to me. So I
matched that up with the little gear mark and put it back together. At least now I have spark. My question is, Did I do the timing procedure correct?
